Hawaii Five-0 star Alex O’Loughlin is taking a short break from his hit series Hawaii Five-O. Deadline is reporting that Alex O’Loughlin is seeking a short stint in rehab for an addicition. “Alex is taking a short break from Hawaii Five-0 to receive supervised treatment for prescription pain medication due to a recent shoulder injury,” a rep for the actor said in a statement.
How will this affect production on the show? Not a whole lot, according to the post. It seems that they are shooting episode 20, which actually focuses on Masi Oka’s character and had very few scenes with O’Loughlin in that particular episode. Production is ahead of schedule and will shutdown for a short time to give O’Loughlin the time to receive the treatment he needs.
After the short break, they will resume production on their 23 episode season. “We respect and support Alex’s decision,” CBS Studios said. “Everyone at CBS Television Studios and Hawaii Five-0 wishes him well and we look forward to his return.”
