(new) Hawaii Five-0 on CBS

TV picks for Friday, May 12

“Hawaii Five-0” (9 p.m., CBS): Poor Steve McGarrett. He’s risking his life yet again as the crime drama ends its season. The team attempts its “most dangerous rescue yet,” trying to save young girls trapped in the sex trafficking ring it has been tracking this year.

“20/20” (10 p.m., ABC): ABC News Correspondent Matt Gutman interviews anti-virus titan turned international fugitive, John McAfee, who was named a “person of interest” by authorities in the murder of his neighbor in Belize. In 2012, when Belize authorities tried to question McAfee about the death of American Greg Faull, he went underground and fled to Guatemala. More than four years later, Gutman meets with McAfee at his home in Tennessee to discuss his tumultuous past and current life, including new allegations raised in the Showtime documentary “Gringo,” which alleges he paid to have Faull murdered. The hour also includes interviews with Eileen Keeney, Faull’s mother; Janice McAfee, McAfee’s wife; and Nanette Burstein, “Gringo” filmmaker.

“Master of None” (Netflix): The excellent, Emmy-winning comedy launches its long-awaited second season. After traveling abroad, Dev (Aziz Ansari) returns to New York to take on challenges in his personal and family life, a new career opportunity, and a complex, developing relationship with someone very meaningful to him. Along the way, the intimate, low-key series dives into subjects as diverse as the plight of dating in a digital world, religion, coming out to your family and how to find the most delicious pasta for dinner. Arguably Netflix’s best comedy, “Master” currently has an excellent score of 91 on “Metacritic.”
